On Tuesday, the EU Court of Justice made an important landmark ruling that is a step forward for rainbow families in all EU member countries. The court ruled that Bulgaria has to recognise two women as mothers of a child and issue the child a birth certificate. The ruling means that all EU member countries must recognise same-sex parents. This secures the right to #FreeMovement in the EU for rainbow families.
The European Centre-Right LGBT+ Alliance welcomes the ruling and hope that it will inspire EU member countries to reform their national legislation in an LGBT+ inclusive way and to recognise and welcome rainbow families in all countries.
